Chinese seasoning: Hoisin sauce

Buy Hoisin sauce Here! $1.29

Also called Peking sauce, Hoisin sauce is a deliciously irresistible sweet sauce with a spicy "tang" made from selected spices, ground soybeans, garlic, and sweet potatoes. Reddish-brown in color, it is excellent for marinating, stir frying, and dipping. When used on meats and chicken, nothing quite compares to this versatile sauce.

Hoisin sauce has a consistency similar to ketchup. It is used in Chinese cooking as a seasoning, as well as an ingredient. It is most famously used as a condiment and glaze for roasted meats, most commonly with Mu Shu dishes, and Peking Duck.

Once opened, canned Hoisin sauce should be transferred to a non-metal container, tightly sealed and refrigerated. Bottled Hoisin sauce can be refrigerated as is. Both will keep indefinitely when stored in this manner.
