
Steamed beef with rice powder
Servings: 2-3
¾ lbs. round beef
1 cup rice powder
½ teaspoon ground Szechuan peppercorn
½ green onion (chopped)
Marinade:
2 green onions
3 slices ginger
1 star anise
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 Tablespoon rice wine
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons cooking oil
Directions:
- Mix the marinade well. Cut the round beef into small slices about 1 1/2" squares and 1/6" thick. Marinate the round beef in the marinade for about 30 minutes.
- Dredge the round beef pieces by sprinkling each slice with the rice powder to give it a thin coat. Then steam them in a shallow bowl inside a steam basket over high heat for 20 minutes.
- Once steamed, sprinkle some chopped green onions and Szechuan peppercorn powder over the beef, and it is ready to serve.
